Let's Automate Administrative HR Tasks Through AI.


With organizations using AI tools as ChatGPT during work, is it actually possible to use AI in HR administrative tasks? Repetitive tasks like employee data management and payroll processing are taking too much resource limiting HR's capacity to focus on strategic initiatives.

 

Let's explore how AI can reshape the landscape of HR by automating these tasks.

According to Eightfold AI (2022), most HR leaders already use AI around 78% in at least one aspect of their HR duties. They are revolutionizing traditional HR processes by using AI tools to perform tasks with speed, accuracy, and efficiency.

 

1. Resume screening and candidate matching.

HR professionals can save time spent on manual processes by using AI tools to analyze resumes, identify relevant skills and qualifications, and match candidates with job requirements.

 

2. Onboarding and Offboarding.

Automated systems can manage tasks like generating checklists, scheduling onboarding activities, and handling digital document management. So, HR can focus on more personal aspects of onboarding (Marr, 2023)

 

3. Time and attendance tracking.

Without using manual books or sheets to track attendance and leaves AI can automate time tracking, attendance management and leave approvals.

 

4. Payroll processing.

Assign jobs like calculating wages, deducting taxes, and issuing paychecks to a system that eliminates the possibility of human error and sticks to schedules. So, the company will be able to pay employees on time. (Kanaki, 2024)

 

As these examples show, AI impact on HRM will improve efficiency and create a satisfied workforce in the company.

  2. Agreed. Implementing an AI based payroll processing system can also reduce the human errors, incorrect salary computations which leads to delays in payments. Further, deduction of taxes while complying to government regulations is also an added advantage (Marr, 2023).
